SAU Offers New Major in Healthcare Administration

Officially released on October 29, Southern Arkansas University announced that they will be offering a new major in healthcare administration.

This addition to the degrees offered at Southern Arkansas is a positive expansion for the university. This degree plan will allow students to grow in professional positions inside the healthcare field such as, "work in various professional positions in the medical field, aiding doctors, nurses, and other specialists in healthcare delivery."

Although I am not involved in the healthcare industry or a major, I know this program will allow many students at SAU to learn essential leadership and professional skills that will propel them forward in their careers, in the future.

According to Southern Arkansas University news, the courses for this new degree plan will be available both online and in-person. And the program will "utilize
existing business and public health and nursing programs while adding four new classes".

From a student perspective, this new program will change the entire atmosphere of learning at Southern Arkansas University. We are a growing school, and the addition of a new and inclusive program will attract students from across the country.

This new program displays the excellence of Southern Arkansas and their progression of inclusion and a growth of degrees for students to pursue.
